Default Breaking a car.

Since they removed the scrapped section on the V5, has anyone broke a car.
How do you inform the DVLA. Would a breakers issue a certificate of destruction if you took the vin and log book and shell. i guess they would charge. Perhaps someone has done it. Thanks Steve.

If you take a shell to a breakers they should issue a COD as long as it has the VIN number on it still, failing that fill in part 9 of the V5C and sign it. in the traders sig part print 'refused to sign' I have done this several times and only once got a letter asking to confirm who had the car becuse the trader had not signed.
