D5 Oil Filter Spanner

Can anyone tell me the size or the spanner to remove the top of the D5 oil filter, and if there is a special tool for this as my engine oil filter is in a very awkward place on my 08 XC70 D5.

Normally a 36mm standard hex socket.
Low profile versions are available if space is limited.

If it's the same as the 2012 D5 I think it's a 36mm

Take the grey engine cover off to give yourself a bit more room.

A 36mm socket with a long extension will work.

Thanks all for the Advice, Now Sorted with a 36mm short socket and long half inch bar extension & ratchet.
