Roof mount antenna
Has anyone replaced the shark fin antenna on a late (2022 plate) V60......the rear screen DAB antenna works OK....just about....but the weaker stations are getting blocked by my rear dashcam so I am thinking a roof mount one would be better...

Radio antenna is in the rear left quarter glass. The roof one is GPS only, as far as I know. I suspect you can’t retrofit a radio antenna into it, if that’s what your aiming for..

Thanks.... on my V60 all the aerials are in fact on the top of the rear tailgate glass (I traced the wires from their respective cables and amplifiers
Problem is that as soon as the rear dashcam (Viofio A129 pro duo, i.e. not a cheapo one!!!) comes anywhere near them the weaker DAB stations drop out to "no signal"...if I unplug it the signal immediately returns I have tried mounting the cam at different positions on the screen, top and bottom and also on the top of the rear plastic trim - which is way better but still a problem in low signal areas, in all instances unplugging it restores the signal hence the idea to mount all the aerials on the roof in a "shark fin" type housing as is the present GPS one |

Aha, so it’s a bit different on V60 compared to XC60, 40 (and I thing 90 as well) But still.. I can’t imagine it would be easy ro retrofit it into the gps antenna.
Why not then place the radio antenna on the side, like 40/60/90 cars?

A windscreen-mounted DAB antenna?

ah, THOSE things... I have seen them advertised
will look into this further ....presumably the plug will fit the lead that presently connects to the DAB amp in the tailgate housing ?.... I will check this and report back thanks Last edited by davidwf15; Apr 20th, 2023 at 23:38. |
