Would be, I had a late registered (09 plate, but 2006 built) non turbo 2.0 Impreza estate and that was surprisingly quick and limpet like on the bends given it wasn't a sporty model - everyone assumed it was a Turbo as it was blue and I didn't feel the need to disappoint them.

Similarly, I chuck a bit of Valvemaster into my MGB at each fill up, more to neutralise the ethanol than for the supposed lead replacement benefit.

I would say if running one of the hybrid models or doing a very low mileage on petrol you should consider E5 super unleaded (as classic car drivers do who do low mileages) as the bit that goes off the quickest is the 10% alcohol in the standard E10 petrol.
There is no sensor for fuel quality, it is worked out by using the data already in the car ( time, and fuel level reading and fuel used )

Message cleared itself and electric power restored. Running fine so not dodgy fuel.
Maybe the car needed a maths lesson on adding up.

my sons 10 year old petrol Polo sat in the garage for well over a year during lockdown, it started 1st time (we had the battery on a trickle charger throughout) and has performed flawlessly thereafter
