Its in the range 0.006" at the gear teeth ( + or - 0.002" )

Clan can you elaborate please. I haven’t stripped my diff. I just noticed on prop attachment that I could rotate shaft back and to by around 8 - 10 mm. Do you think this is ok?

That's a lot you need to take the cover off and see where the play is , It is probably in the planet gear wheels in the centre of the differential.. when you have the cover off check the actual play between the crown wheel and pinion gear teeth, it should be JUST noticeable. ( 0.006 inch )
