"Book time for service" message coming on early
Hi Guys,
My car is a V50 D3 2011. I had it serviced last December, paid extra for the correct grade oil. Now, after only 5 months and 5000 miles, this message is coming on every time I start up. The oil level in the sump is correct, according to the electronic dipstick. No faults on the ECU. Any ideas? |

Has the car been left "on" for a long period of time? That also contributes towards the countdown of the service message IIRC.

I take it the message was coming up in December when you serviced it? If not then it is working from when it was last reset...
If it was and it was properly reset at that service, then sorry, no idea! David

The previous owner (Met Police) seemed to have had it serviced about every 12500 miles.

It is not a problem as it goes out after a minute . you can live with it until the next service , or pay to have it reset but it will not be accurate for the next service of course .
