Default Exhaust tailpipe tip

Does this look like a factory tailpipe finisher and if so, any idea what the part number is?

Difficult to tell from the photo. Is it clamped to the tailpipe with a single set screw underneath or is it part of the tailpipe.

Looks original from here. Type your VIN into Skandix and it will give you a list - https://www.skandix.de/en/vehicle-id...on/?action=neu

But also measure the Outside Diameter of the silencer pipe and compare against available options. You'll find the Volvo 8 digit P/N just below the Skandix stock no. which you can then provide your local main dealer with.

I don’t have the car with me at the moment to check, but I believe it’s attached with some sort of screw/bolt.

Thanks, I had done that already but annoyingly couldn’t see any sizes specified and seems to give several different options.

But could be this one https://www.skandix.de/en/spare-part...lpipe/1029362/

Yes, possibly, but you'll need to measure the OD of your existing pipe and compare against the options as the replacements vary in dimensions...both ID and length. Too short and you could experience fumes in the cabin while stopped in traffic.

A Volvo parts department will provide you with the correct P/N but is it still available?

As you can see the replacement appears not to have the original fold on the tip so, for the cost involved, you may wish to consider aftermarket or your local motor factors may have something suitable in stock. Again, you'll need the OD of your existing pipe.

In that case it looks like the standard end trim as fitted to the C70. I assume the v70 will be the same. https://www.skandix.de/en/spare-part...romed/1029652/

It certainly looks the same as the one removed from my '97 V70 (complete with rust & delamination)

Rather than pay silly money for a decorative tail piece I purchased a length of stainless steel pipe:~ ebay exhaust parts- drilled & welded a nut to take the clamping bolt, all stainless (I used two but one is fine)
The above is a fraction of the price for a much longer length.

You can shape the pipe end into anything you like, oval or other... jaw protected vice- purchase the internal diameter slightly larger than the original tail end for a sliding fit.
Hope it helps.
Bob.

My original tailpipe was rusted and had seen better days, no longer available I spoke to my local exhaust guy and we decided to use the original tailpipe and weld a stainless steel cover over the top

You can see the original tailpipe inside the stainless steel sleeve
