Default Exorbitant Tyre sealant!!

Not sure if anyone has had the misfortune of getting a puncture and having to use the tyre sealant that Volvo supplied - I recently did and thought i'd better get a new tub. £26 for the sealant and you also need a new valve for the thing as well which is another £23 or so!!! That's taking the bloody p***.

A space saver wheel and tyre is only £60 so that's going to be my option unless someone else knows of a less rip off price anywhere

Is there something in the rules that state you can't use tyre weld for 10 quid a tin?

That was quoted from my local Volvo dealer - told him it was a no brainer which he couldn't disagree with. If you think it's not quite right i'll give him another ring to confirm the price

People are quoting £200 - £300 here as the price that they are paying, not sure which car you have but that is what I have seen people talking about

I would expect that the tyre alone would be more than £60 ...

My previous car was a Mazda 6. I used the tyre sealant once and was quoted 90quid for replacement from the dealer. No need to say that I bought a tube of tyre weld (or something similar instead).
And on the Mazda you put the sealant direct into the tyre, not through the pump, so that price didn't include pump hose replacement or anything else.

It's yet another con for us all.
Also the chances are that a puncture repaired with tyre seal won't be repaired.

What's more the state of the roads these days is shocking so you end up getting far more in the way of punctures than ever before.

The roads around home are in a shocking state, you raise a concern with the council, if you're lucky they send a man with a shovel & patch mix. Put's it in whacks it with shovel & the jobs considered complete, until it next rains of course when the cycle all starts again.

Mine wasn't repaired with the sealant either - got a hole in the sidewall which wouldn't have sorted it anyway but I wasn't to know that when I was at the side of the road in the snow!
