Last things to sort on the front of the jensen
hey all, im so very close to finishing up the front crossmember/suspension/brake overhaul. however i have misplaced my shims and ordered a bunch of new ones, this car being my dads and myself having no knowledge on how many shims go where. anyone have a rough guide to thickness on each bolt on the upper arm. and also what are people doing for new rotors? old ones are screwed and well you cant buy new ones
cheers |

You can still buy new brake disks, its just that they are expensive

As you've found, the Jensen front brake set-up is different to the later ones (after 64?) so you might have to change callipers and their brackets, discs etc to the later type. Finding early discs will prove difficult but the callipers might be able to be reconditioned if needed. I think there are 3 different calliper brackets. Knowledge of the early brakes is thin on the ground.

Thanks for the reply Derek,
I've already rebuilt the calipers. Aparently I only need the caliper mounting blocks+bolts and splash guards and the calipers are interchangeable. I have searched a great deal on what is needed for the conversion but still can't find 100% of what exactly needs to be changed and where I can buy the parts. I'm suprised there isn't more info on this. What the hell is everyone using on their jensens? |
