I am wondering whether the rear lights on an 850 estate and the 940 estate are interchangeable? I like the look of the 850 lights which go up the rear pillars and wonder if they would fit into the 940 with some careful fabrication...

Obviously there would need to be some wiring to update but I dont know whether the body is the same. It looks like it to me....

Any ideas please?

Definitely different! I suppose it could be done but you'd probably need the D pillars from an 850 to do it.

If you are capable of doing the work yourself maybe it is a bit more viable! any custom work is only as good as the fabricator!!
Even if it were executed to perfection i still question exactly how good it would look!!
Nothing wrong with creative thinking, Do a photoshop or get someone to do it, much easier than taking the plunge with an angle grinder!!! i would love to see the virtual results, i could be wrong, it might look amazing to the point of 'why didn't Volvo do this?!!'

Anything is possible, if you've got the cash.

Go for the old fashioned Pimping Route and put some cards with a picture and telephone number in the local phone boxes

"Go for the old fashioned Pimping Route and put some cards with a picture and telephone number in the local phone boxes"

Great idea, but most of the phone boxes have now been removed or converted into book stores.......

If I ever have to scrap the car it might just be worth a try. I rather like the 850/ early V70 look at the back.....
