Wow that's shocking. Surely it would take all of five seconds listening to a CD to know the difference! |

Still looking. Would also consider an earlier car with Pro Logic

All I can say is, my old 2008 S60, which did have the full premium audio system (no dynaudio badge though) was bloody excellent. A lot of late model SE LUX cars had it fitted, and they thankfully came with a 3.5mm aux input.
It's just a shame they removed the hidden EQ settings when they revised the stereo to HU-850. Some say the older HU-803 produced deeper bass because of this, but if you have an aux device that had it's own EQ, you could really make the car rumble even with HU-850. I can understand WHY they revised the design of the stereo though, as the original HU-803 headunit by comparison was just too complicated for the average person to fully understand. It was like they'd designed it for some kind of audio specialist to operate, but I wish they'd left the EQ in, as it had a lot of adjustment, including seperate front and rear EQ. |

Using a 803 as a starting point to keep the look etc .I would not bother trying to locate or retro fit a Dynaudio system. They are getting tired now and the good times are over for finding a nice car with a full working system
I would do a fresh install. 4ch amp to run the doors . The rears dont add that much when using pro logic . And a mono amp for a nice subwoofer . Dampen all the doors with £20 worth each of deadening material . If you can , run new speaker cables . Add in a 4ch Vibe amp offering 100 plus watts or more for the doors . Then a mono Vibe subwoofer amp offering 300-500 watts . They are fantastic amps for the money . Fill the doors with some nice 6.5 inch components and work out a nice stealth subwoofer install. Will work out less than a Grand roughly and sound way way better . |
