How serious is P0193?
so as my cars prefer being at the garage than at home today the C70 spat out P0193 which is apparently a fuel pressure problem. The car ran fine, i didnt really notice anything but clearly something happened.
So, how big a deal is it? should i be worried

It'll be the Bosch Fuel Pressure Sensor on the left hand side of the fuel rail.
They deteriorate over time on these turbo 5 cylinder volvos. Volvo Part no: 31272732 Bosch Part no: 0261230239 Plenty on Ebay for under £40.00 Ebay Search Volvo 31272732 DIY job really... It's held on by 1 Torx screw but not much room so you need slim tools, something like this: Last edited by T5R92011; Oct 25th, 2021 at 21:12. |

find the Fuse for the fuel pump ,in the fuse board passenger footwell
remove it start the engine, let it run till it cuts keep attempting to start till it wont Disconnect the battery Fuel rail, the Other end to the sensor there is a schrader valve, remove the valve cover (if fitted) Lots of rags under, press the center to release any remaining pressure replace cover (if fitted) loads of rags under the sensor itself unplug the elec connection , take the screw out Dont drop the screw no really Dont drop the screw ! new oring, new sensor, refit the screw (Dont drop it) refit the connector battery back on *take care NOT to put arm Through the steering wheel to spin the car over as airbag "oh bugger" would result in broken arm done

I changed a pressure sensor on my D5, no improvement, also change the fuel filter!
Cured it! I am not saying that is your problem but it won't hurt to do it!🙂 |
