  1. Shut down car and lock
  2. Format USB
  3. Download latest "1 GB - Voice Control" update
  4. Start car
  5. Upload (i.e. install) onto car
  6. Shut down car and lock
  7. Re-format USB
  8. Download Europe - 52 GB - Sensus Maps
  9. Start car
  10. Upload (i.e. install) to car
  11. Shut down car and lock
  12. Wait 15 mins
  13. Start car and the maps should be working
It’s not failing, it won’t install from usb because the the 2gb map OTA download is still installing after a week. When I put the 52gb usb map update in the system says map update currently on progress, please try again later.

Do you still have maps on the screen, or does the nav just say Initialising?

I don't have my V90 any more so I can't remember the exact details, but I think if you went into the software updates app and then map updates it would give you a percentage progress when installing OTA updates.

If it's still going after 5 hours though, I fear you'll need to write down all of your settings and do a factory reset. That'll get you back to something resembling a working system, then do the voice update before you do any other map updates.

Before I realised that the voice control update was broken and needed reinstalling, I'd applied all of the individual country updates (boy, was that painful) but I'm not convinced they actually stuck -- after fixing voice control it happily consumed the entire 50Gb Europe update that was ostensibly the same version as all of the individual countries.

I was able to download and install the 52gb version without any issues as I turned off car modem to stop the glitch, but when I turned on the car modem again, the 2gb update is still trying to install. Frustrating to say the least.
