Default Piece of junk V70 wont start :@

Got a really odd one here

V70 1999 2.4 10V with the earlier distributor type engine. The car cranks but will not start whatsoever. All warning lights come on as they should except engine managment. Have replaced antenna ring, cleared fault codes on Vida, IMM321 keeps coming back up and it still wont start. All fuses are good. Fuel relay and main relay swapped out. Checking wiring diagram im suspicious its the main engine ECU. Has anyone else had this problem?

How certain are you that the Engine Management Light bulb is working? If the bulb is good, then the strongest indication to me is the lack of EML. Favourite for this would not be the ECU itself, but the power feed to it in my opinion. Sorry I can't help with a pin-out of the ECU to tell you where the main power feed comes in, hopefully others on here will be able to do that. You could try just re-seating it in its socket?

So long as you KNOW the bulb is good, then I'd be chasing the lack of EML before worrying about the non-start.

Just to double check, can you definitely hear the fuel pump switching on at the rear of car on key pos II?

Interesting you say that, the bulb was working when ignition went to pos 2 just before this happened and the flashing arrow came back

Yes, replaced 103 relay too as well as using the schrader valve on fuel rail pressed in while someone else turned the key just to make sure

So you're getting fuel to the fuel rail. Are the injectors working[i.e. is petrol actually getting into the cylinders]? I take it you have checked the inside of the distributor cap and rotor arm and getting a spark at the plugs?

Yes the pump is sending fuel to the rail, I depressed the schrader valve and got someone to turn the ignition on which produced a lot of fuel when the pump primed.

There is no spark and no pulse from the injectors either, dizzy cap and rotor arm are in good order and virtually new genuine Volvo parts. All fuses have been checked, fuel and main relays have been swapped. It had no symptoms before this and its throwing immobiliser IMM321 on Vida and wont clear.
