0.15A is a high drain current, something must be switching on. After 4 days that is approx 15Ah, 20% of the battery capacity, which probably would take the voltage down to 12.3V.

Over the last week I've checked my battery voltage regularly and it's still losing a lot of power, even when leaving it unlocked overnight. Approx rate of decline is 12.7V down to 12.30V over 3/4 days. This seems too much to me. I've checked the "drain rate" again and it seems to settle at 20 mA after a while. Is this normal does anyone know?

With meter in place you should do the "pull one fuse at a time" test. There's no other way to tell which circuit is causing the drain.

Do you know if the drain I've got is excessive? Cheers.

20mA is nothing. That only equates to 2Ah for 4 days which on an 80Ah battery is approx 3% of it's capacity. My drain is 50mA, still nothing to worry about.

It would be interesting for you to disconnect the battery for a day to see if the voltage has dropped. If so, then for some reason, the battery isn't holding it's charge.

Yes it's all very puzzling. I'll do as you suggest, it's a brand new battery so should hold its charge for weeks. Cheers. AG

bear in mind if you have either RTI, premium sound or diesel you need a bigger capacity battery vs a lesser model

Well, finally got around to doing a disconnected test, 12.70V (after a good run) droppped to 12.68V over 24 hours, so I think the battery must be ok. All a bit of a mystery. Think I'd better invest in a powerpak (or whatever they're called) before the winter..

Well good to hear I'm not the only one with the problem, but there must be a cause. Mate of mine with a Defender leaves it for months and it still starts first time. May have to do as you do on my regular trip into deepest, darkest Wales to be on the safe side, pending a solution.
