Default D5 keeps running after removing the key.

Bit disturbing this one. I switch off the engine, remove the key and it stumbles back into life without the key. Then it idles very roughly. I reinsert the key and switch off again it will stop.
It’s 163bhp with 225,000 miles.
At ideas? I’ve got MOT in 5 weeks and will probably not bother as to much to do. Thanks
Matt

If you don't remove the key, does it stay off? Possibly a faulty ignition switch/barrel?

It sounds like a dirty shut-off solenoid on the injection pump. Thaqt also suggests dirty injectors too. Try a bottle of this with an Italian decoke combined with several switch off/restart (not while you're driving!) operations.

Should improve power, economy and hopefully sort that sticky IP solenoid!
