Default Looking to buy my first Volvo - 163 D5 Executive

Hi! I'm looking to buy my first ever Volvo. We've recently rescued a dog and I've been kayaking and supping for a while now.
Having explored various options, a big Volvo seems to be a sensible route.

From reading various forum posts, I think the D5 with the euro 3 engine, 163 bhp is the one I ought to be getting.

Ideally in the Executive trim, although would consider the SE.

If anyone has one for sale or can be tempted to part with, let me know 😁

What extra does the executive trim offer, as opposed to the SE?

https://www.volvoclub.org.uk/pdf/xc9...ec_Apr2003.pdf the 1st gen 2002, and early 2003 were S / SE. i think the executive came later that year with a beefed-up sound system but cant be sure on that fact

Just listed my XC70 for sale.

I used to work for a Volvo main dealer years ago and had each of the range as my company cars...I found the XC70 the best of them all and I searched hard before finding this nicely specced one in great condition.

Just saw your advert, appears exceptionally clean!

Just wondered why you think xc70 was best model?

Cheers, it is very nice throughout. This is down to two factors. Firstly due to single-owner driver long term ownership. Company owned then personal, same driver travelling big motorway miles visiting industrial sites around the country.
So no dogs, wellies, mountain bikes, straw bales, kids, crisps, sweets and the inevitable carnage to the body, trim and interior.
The second reason is that I'm a bit of a detailing nut.
Every area of the car has received a serious level of attention including the engine bay, carpets steam cleaned and leather fully cleaned and correctly finished.
The plastics were treated with Aerospace 303 Protectant to keep them blacker for longer....wheels off and cleaned...under-arch areas...glass polished in and out and given a hydrophobic coating...paintwork has had a multi-stage treatment including de-tar, clay bar, machine polish, wax and sealant, plastics and wood surfaces cleaned and protected, door-shuts etc etc....you get the picture.
A fair number of hours to say the least.
This year she's had all filters, two changes of oil and an upper torque mount.
Oh, and the swirl flaps done.

Why the XC70 ?
IMO better handling than its stilted stablemates, improved even further with the addition of a 4C chassis with a better proportioned load space.
Driving position is altogether more car, less bus.

Wow this looks exceptional! 5k is bit over my budget

Alas, as much as I'd like to, I'm not sure I can give the car as much attention.
I've got a big German shepherd that sheds pretty much everyday and he loves rolling over in puddles of water every chance he gets.

I'll take a closer look at the XC70 forums.
