Default V90 inside london's ULEZ

Hello
The Ultra Low Emission Zone in London is to be extended in October - does anyone know of a fix for my V90 to make it compliant with the emission requirements
Thanks

Does an LPG conversion allow it in the ULEZ?

Lay it up for another 20 years and then change its taxation class to historic vehicle? 🙂

It should do but it has to be on the LPG register to qualify, as long as the rules haven't changed recently.

Honest John, who is to be believed in all things relating to internal combustion,
says:
'The ULEZ is really aimed at discouraging diesels in the capital, so only diesels that are Euro 6 will be exempt.
It's more relaxed for petrols, which have to be Euro 4 or better, which is generally most cars registered after 2005 and some as early as 2001.
All hybrids, PHEVs and electric cars are exempt. As for LPG conversions, it depends on the individual model and engine, so it's important to check with TfL first. The emissions are taken from the V5C data held by the DVLA.'

Thanks Jor

Just wondered if there were an acceptable mod which would reduce the figures - interestingly my recent MOT Emissions test had HC at 81ppm with the Euro 4 requirement for total HC at 100ppm - so I'm under (I think)
I know there's CO and NOx figures as well but I suppose there might not be a way to change TFL's use of the V5.....
Thanks again

I'm pretty sure the ULEZ applies the pre-conversion emissions standards to cars, making it hard to achieve exemption through any kind of modification short of a complete engine change and re-registration.

It is different in this respect from the congestion charging zone with which it overlaps which does allow exemptions for LPG conversions. Also the LEZ, which only applies to commercial vehicles, but which again allows for exemption by retro-fitting emission control technology.

I wonder if they ever manage to apply these regressive taxes to foreign visitors or whether their sole purpose is to repress British businesses and individuals. Temporary import on a foreign registration, now there's an idea ... !

You may well be right David, when i checked last time it was several years ago, hence my comment about them changing the rules!

It seems no matter what they're trying to drive traffic out of concrete jungles which is exactly all they'll have left as people will eventually move out so they can actually travel to work, shops etc without the constraints of a sub-standard public transport infrastructure!

Hi Dave, I'm convinced the government has a couple of people sat in a dark/blacked out room somewhere thinking what they can do next to hit the motorist and get cars off the road, one day someone may switch the light on for them and they may then realise just how much we contribute to the coffers, the classic car industry alone contributes millions let alone everyone else, road tax, tax on fuel etc,
