alarm
The petrol filler flap locking bolt gets displaced / bent with use, this may be why it doesn't work.

hi, i had trouble with my alarm and central locking. jod told me it may be the tailgate lock, so i took (broke) the tailgate trim off and disconnected the lock from the central locking. the alarm works fine now, the remote works, the central locking works and if i want the boot opening i just use the key!
when the weather is better ill have a good look at the wiring but for now its fine. regards cavey |

Hey Caveman. Are you saying if I disconnect the multiple then the alarm should work 9but have to lock the tailgate manually?
Ive tried this and my alarm still doesn't work - so that could suggest its NOT the tali gate - as the alarm still doesn't work

Have you resolved this? I have the same issue, the alarm wont set - its never yet worked. My two-penneth is that Im sure I read somewhere that the alarm can ONLY be set using the remote fob and not the key? Not sure if thats true, can anyone comment? My restoration 850 only came with 1 key and no fob. I have got a second key up and working and I am on my second fob (theory is I bought the wrong type fob first time - for later years cars) neither seem to program up and lock / unlock the car / set the alarm. My investigations and pleas for help continue!

The fob I have doesn't work (a job I should really get around to sorting) so I always lock the car using the key only, and it does NOT set the alarm. HTH
