The offside leg is about 20mm too far to the right. When the bonnet shuts, there is a 20mm gap between the bonnet and the wing, tapering to nothing as you look up to the bulkhead.

There's no real damage to the wings, front inner panel or bonnet, other than a small kink at one corner. I can live with that. Basically the accident just sheared off the complete bumper with brackets. Like i said in an earlier post, the sub-frame underneath is fine. The car drives straight as a dye! and stops as it should. Even the broken headlight works on main, dipped and side lights, just the glass has broke.
If you're not worried by aesthetics I'd drive it as it is. You might be able to adjust the gaps on the wings to look less obvious with a bit of fettling, elongate the holes in the wing mounting holes maybe. At some point you might stumble across someone who has access to a some ratchet straps and a steel upright and you could have a go at pulling it into line.

Drive it until something mechanical says otherwise - better the devil you know etc.

Well i don't think it would pass the MOT, as the nearside light is up in the air slightly. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't adjust downwards enough. Plus the bumper just wont fit as it is. I presume it would be illegal to drive without a bumper!

As it is classed as a category "S", it needs to be MOT'd and then a form sent off to get it re registered.

Shame. I'm sure with a bit of TLC it could be all set right but at the end of the day if you feel it best to let it go then it sounds like its game over

If it makes you feel better my offside headlamp was extremely high after my crash, plus i had to duct tape the indicator in to stop it falling out, passed the MOT after they (somehow) adjusted the beam (for free). I also drove around for a whole day minus a bumper and wasn't stopped. I did ask if it would pass an MOT without and all Volvo could say was 'interesting question', worth a shot IMHO.

V70 now straightened and the replacement parts fitted. The cost of straightening the chassis was £1000, the cost of the parts was £100. I am happy to have the incorrect bumper colour for the time being, it looks better than i thought it would!

I just need to get it MOT'd and back on the road. 😎

Ok, so i have learnt how to resize my photos, but i cant stop them from turning 90 % could 4x4 come to my rescue again please!

Seconded! Top man. It probably doesn't make economic sense, but sometimes that's not the point eh? Well done for taking the time and effort and saving it, it's looking sweet.

Good news on getting it sorted. The photos have fallen over because they are too tall. When resizing them pull the top down and push the bottom up to make them shorter. They will then be upright when posting.
