Default Xc70 Loom issues

My 58 regd xc70 diesel with 209,000 miles keeps breaking down after a high speed run, shudders to a halt and won’t start for about 1/2 hour. We discovered it has has a break on the loom just where engine loom branches off plug into egr valve. We fixed that but car still develops same symptoms, and we wonder if anybody else has similar issues with wiring breaks as we now don’t know where to go next. Car can now be started and left idling but just stalls after 1/2 hour or so
Thanks

Default Engine loom

I’ve had a main dealer carry out a lot of tests on my 58 regd XC70 to try trace a stalling issue. Car can drive perfectly well but will just stall when the revs are low
Anyway long story short after carrying out various tests on injectors, fuel delivery pressure and other things they diagnose a break somewhere in the engine loom. Is this an expensive thing to replace?
Thanks

I have a quote from Cambridge main dealer of £1950 + VAT
They’ve done all they can with their plug in checks so now it comes to old fashioned diagnosis- which in their case is swap bits until it sorts the problem. I’m taking it to an auto electrics firm who tell me they can trace loom breakages. Hope that works out cheaper.
I may be unfairly dissing main dealer techs but I don’t think they want to get involved in this sort of investigative work as they can earn more money ‘servicing’ a new company car!
