  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Another easy way to check the vacuum if you don't have a gauge is to run the engine at tick over, remove the oil filler cap, pull the pipe off the front vacuum mounting, put your finger on the end to block it if there is no difference to the sound coming from the engine through the oil filler entry then it could be the rear mounting that's leaking, if there is a difference then push the pipe on to the front mounting, and if there is a difference in noise the front should be ok. You can also do this at the Y section where the pipes split off to the back mounting and front mounting. I hope this makes sense. it's somewhere to start, even if it's not the mountings it will let you know if there's a leak in the system.Ian
