Just upgraded my C70 rear lights but it's been a nightmare of the fittings not being correct etc.

Finally got LEDs for reverse and indicators.

Brakes and rear lamp were next but a few mares with them but now sorted.

The fogs are the ones I haven't done as I can't find bulbs with the right fitting and as I will hardly ever use them I've almost given up - almost!

Sorted out the bulbs, finally!!

Hopefully that is that.

I've ordered the canbus upgrade thing that seems to give a load more functionality to the car.

Will report back.

could be an idea to pop up links for the bulbs ,save others the aggro of "nope no fit"
*if they are ok ones and you dont end up taking them out as the led reversing lights dont put as much light out where you need it

That's a good idea.

I'll look through my Amazon history and report back.

Seem smooth enough to me. They are a cool white light rather than the sort of yellow of the originals. The only issue I had with them was to bend the contact pins slightly inwards to ensure a snug fit.

They're cheap enough just to give them a try and compare.

One thing I've found with the upgrades is that when I press the brake pedal, the radio signal drops.

Kind of weird as when the signal isn't that close, it more or less drops out.

It's not a deal breaker as I'd rather people can see me brake at the expense of the audio fidelity but I'm curious why that should be.

My car came with HID's, at first I assumed it was factory until one day I took a look inside the light unit, and saw the aftermarket ballast and everything in there.
They are great, so good, that I have probably only used full beam a handfull of times (in 6 years of ownership), and I drive down windy unlit country lanes all the time (being down in Devon).

During my ownership, the only thing that failed, was one of the ballast modules (last year). So I bought this:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
And just replaced the one failing ballast. Working perfectly again, also means I have a spare ballast and 2 spare bulbs.
It has always passed MOT, and all the extra gubbins fits inside the light housing, with the caps on, so it looks neat and stock till you take it apart (hence me assuming it was factory for few years, till I had to replace a sidelight).

I have no idea if the lens is changed, but it doesn't look like it is, compared to my neighbours C70.

Hope that helps.

Hi Phil
That’s very intriguing what you’ve said there & you live in Devon so I know what you mean about the roads as I’m in north Devon.
