Default '97 Volvo 940 Saloon 2.3 LPT - Wigan - £1650

1997 Volvo 940 Classic 2.3

107k miles

12 months MOT

Full 3" exhaust including cat (about 2/3rds is stainless, and the mild steel section is brand new). It is surprisingly quiet, at least when you're inside the car.

15g turbo. (only a slight upgrade from original)
The ECU has a chip from the mythical Fred (one of the OG's of LH2.4 tuning)

It has just had an oil change.

Otherwise totally standard. It has a slightly tatty interior. I've cleaned it but a set of nicer looking seats would really brighten the appearance.

The exterior has a few scratches and a dent on the boot. There's one bubbling spot on the passenger wing. The scuttle panel isn't fastened properly. I haven't investigated this but you can see how it leaves a gap against the bonnet. The battery tray has a bit of rust. Otherwise the body is pretty solid.

The front dampers feel a bit worn out.

It could do with a full set of tyres - 3 of them were listed as advisories on the recent MOT, as was one of the track rod ends.

Bonus; It has a National Vegetable Society sticker. And three small animal stickers on the dashboard - I believe they are; baboon, ankole & zebra.

£1650 ono

Goodness, I couldn't possibly tell you. I didn't even know what an Ankole was until I googled it.

Lovely looking car. My Mrs is interested, we’re in the process of selling our Galaxy because we no longer need a seven seater and, having had a 740 in the past, she misses owning an old Volvo.

The Galaxy is on the ‘bay and should be sold by Sunday evening, so will get in touch once it’s gone if this is still available.

Have you got any pics of the rear seats etc?

Hey, sorry about stopping the auction early. It's not something I would normally do but some chaps drove quite a long way to view it, and then had a bit of a crash on the motorway, not far from here. So they ended up needing a different car to get back home. I guess public transport would have costed a lot.

(Now sold)
