Same here:~
Same car & year- fob only for alarm set ('97 V70)

Some existing posts will give you a contact for fob repairs or parts to DIY- eBay company.

Terry - did you fix this?
Im not sure the petrol flap lock would affect it, though my alarm would not set until I fixed a micro switch in the tailgate that told the alarm the boot was shut (see my post about alarm not working for info of fix - simple).
Its a check of the wiring diagrams to see if there is a sensor in the flap I guess?
