Regards, John.
For some reason I wasn't really thinking of things like tax and insurance, as I tend to think of the money on the car, as money I spend in the garage. I see now.

As I said "find a V70/850 that you want to buy, and then sell the Jag to fund the purchase ?"

If you can find a suitable Volvo first, you may be be able to make arrangements with the seller to hold on to the car for a short period, to allow you to sell yours.

If you find a suitable Volvo, and they won't hold it for you, you could look to sell yours, and before you commit to the Jag sale, check the Volvo is still available.

May not work out, and there's a few balls to juggle there, but just an idea to open up your options.

Still, good luck on a swap. It would make life easier.

Definitely do not let mileage put you off!

I had an R Reg V70 TDI on 150k, spent all sorts on it. Sold it as got another car in the midst of it failing an mot. Sold it for 1k

Wrote my D5 off so bought a W Reg still a P80 V70 TDI on 260k, its much cleaner than my old v70, drives nicer too and i got it for £750, drove a 500 mile round trip in it recently and not a single issue from it!
