Question Front strut upper rubber part divided

Front struts are OK, no issue at speed bumps, the upper nut can be moved by force (22 mm wrench, max. 1/5 turn) and jumps back to its original position.
I'm curious: do I have to change anything later/sooner (e.g. upper front mount, upper bearing, spring seat)?
What is it? Is this the rubber bumper?

It is not divided, these are two individual parts, it's normal

From the picture, there don't seem to be any cracks, but the cracks start underneath which can only be seen with the strut disassembled. If the rubber part in the picture shows cracks, the spring seat is in advanced wear condition.

Thx a lot, oragex!
Some years ago the shock adsorbers were replaced (SACHS) but no any other parts (it was told by the former owner of my car).
Do I change anything else like spring seats?

At 220k miles, the spring seats are surely not the originals. Maybe there were replaced before the PO ? If the seats are a few years old and don't have any cracks, I'd keep them because it means these were of good quality parts. Plenty of spring seats brands out there that fail before 1 year old.

I can read the word "Volvo" right on the part. Whoever did that work bought correct stuff. I too used Sachs on my '02.

Do both nuts extend from the strut's tower evenly? If someone left out a stop washer (I do not know the exact name) one will be higher than the other.

My sponge wipers were shot from being soaked with oil from the leaking original's so look there the next time you do strut replacement.

One dust bellow was split so I replaced them both.

You say they're OK now but when those Sachs units near 100K they'll be ready for replacement. Don't wait to 150K as I did.

Were the rears done? They're often discounted as secondary but important.
