Default XC70 / V70 in car owner's manual

I admit to being disappointed that there is no complete hard copy 'Owner's Manual' supplied with the new car. Yes, a version is available as a download via 'My Volvo' but unless you fiddle a bit, you cannot copy the file to your PC. And... the downloaded version contains no information on the Sensus Infotainment System. You can find a version for Infotainment on the web if you really look for it, but what a pity Volvo did not provide a CD with all the Manuals on ... or, better still, good hard copies with the car. Personally I do not like sitting in the car reading the manual ...the in car manual does have Infotainment information by the way. I have already commented on this to Volvo and been promised my thoughts will be passed on.
A thought: is there a way to copy the in car version to a USB stick?
Cheers, Phil

Such is 'progress'. I prefer a proper bound version which I can read with a coffee or wine. It's amazing that even after owning a car for up to a year I still find new things revealed.

That's odd I got hard copy manuals with my new V70 picked up in March. I would have another go at your dealer and ask them to get you them (separate one for the sound system)

Surely you should be given a hard copy! What happens if you break down and need to read up on how to for example use the jack ( or foam kit). Can not believe no manual is included, you can not rely o
n 'Internet access' for looking that up.

BTW , most manuals are PDF so download, open on PC, save as ( V70 manual?...) onto desktop or folder to your liking, you can then copy it to a USB stick etc. I have the paper copy in the car but also one downloaded and saved on my iPhone in the 'iBOOKS'. Handy to have.

Just to clarify: There is a hard copy Owner's Manual provided with the car, plus a hard copy guide to the Navigation system. But the Owner's Manual only covers what you might call maintenance e.g. bulb replacement, adjusting headlamp beam pattern, fuses, child seats etc. It does not cover operational items controlled by the various menus in-car (e.g. mirror settings) nor does it cover the infotainment system. For these items you have to sit in the car and read the in-car manual on the screen or revert to a pdf file available via My Volvo (download and save not too obvious) or to a pdf copy of instructions for the Sensus infotainment system available after much searching of the net. Why not put this on My Volvo as well?
So ... I still think they should provide a comprehensive hard copy manual or a CD containing pdf files of them all ... or make sure the My Volvo site versions are complete and up to date.
Cheers, Phil

OK so we are all on the same page I will list the books supplied with my new V70 which also cover XC70:
V70/XC70 Owners manual
V70/XC70 Quick Guide
Road and Traffic Information - RTI
Volvo Service Handbook
Free Map Update reg card
Sensus Infotainment manual
plus I have a factory towbar so I got a towbar guide too.

The sensus infotainment system guide goes through all the My Car Menu's and settings of which there are 10 pages of them.

Thanks for this. I note you picked your car up in March. We ordered in late March and our car is a 2015 spec, collected June. I wonder if this explains the slight differences. Our RTI is now the Sensus Navigation book, Map updates are now free for life and done via the web (download onto USB then download into car: they say it can take hours to complete). Certainly no Infotainment manual. Maybe I will ask to see if I should have been given one.

Cheers, Phil
