Default Fault 3-1-1

I did the diagnosis procedure on the 240 and I got 3-1-1 as a fault with the ECU.
It translates to 'no connection from speedo sensor to ECU'.
Could one of you genii please tell me if this is something to cause difficult starting?
I am of the opinion that it's not relevant to any problems.
I'm trying to track a difficult cold start problem and came across this amazing write-up by an Alfa guy on L-jetronic systems.
It has shed lots of light on various bits under the bonnet that I never understood, not only for this 240 but also for my 505 GTI Peugeot.
Check it out:

After going through that I may have a reliable car for my boy.

Now I'm wondering if this car is K-jet or L-jet.
Is there some way to know?

What year is your car? USA cars started getting a version of the L-Jet from 1983.

Thanks Derek,
the car is from 1991 so must be L-jet.
Cheers.
