Default Black plastic rubbing strips

Hello, I have a '51 reg (2001 model) S60 in Black Sapphire, and like to keep the paintwork, wheels etc. in tip top condition, but...
I'm getting tired of having to 'black up' the plastic rubbing strips, and wondered if the body colour strips from more recent models would fit my car? If they do, what sort of job is it to replace them, and more importantly, how much would they cost? I've tried just about every product on the market and haven't found one that lasts more than a few weeks before the strips start looking grey again.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I'd also be interested to know if this can be done...

Cheers

Wurth make a plastic dye that as the name implies is a dye and not a 'dressing'. It can be had in black or anthracite and works very well apparantly.

I bought four tubes in black a while ago they are sat in my garage gathering dust after I sold my 850. If you want one PM me and we'll work something out.

I seem to recall reading somewhere (might have been VolvoSpy) about someone painting their strips. This was way back, pre the facelift I'd guess. Seemed to involve lots of work to get a surface that would take the paint properly. No idea how that might compare price-wise to switching the strips.
