1990 740SE interior parts wanted (black)
I'm looking to carry out a bit of light restoration on my late dad's Volvo 740 SE and I want a few parts to replace some tired and damaged parts which were on the car when he bought it a few years ago.
Main parts are two front seats (manual) in black - the seat covers are a bit tatty, according to the brochure they are trico plush? Some of the interior trim panels are also damaged and so am looking for both D post trims and o/s B post trim, again in black. I am also looking for the lower tail gate trim, or some of the clips for it. |

If your existing tailgate trim panel is loose from lots of slamming over the years were you aware that there is a repair kit that sorts out the issue of the locating holes having worn wide so that the clips no longer secure the panel? I bought this kit two weeks ago and it worked a treat.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VOLVO-TAI...EAAOxyY3ZR1agX Are both front seats torn and worn through to the foam? If it is only the driver's seat that is damaged then I know of a good passenger seat in black trico plush and then you can pay a local coachtrimmer about an hour's labour to transfer the foams and covers onto your driver's seat frame which will leave with a seat that looks and feels as good as new. Obviously easier if you can find a pair of seats locally, but finding a driver's seat with no bolster wear in exactly the right fabric may not be so easy nowadays. |

Thanks, I have done the repair kit on the rear tailgate trim previously, so will take it off again and see if anything has come loose. Someone previously had bonded bits together with mastic and P40, so I don't think I could refit all the clips.
It's the seat cushions that are rather worn, I suspect that a previous owner may have been of larger stature and so the fabric and foam are a bit tired which is a shame as the rear seats are unworn. If the covers are the same for both seats then I could be interested in using a passenger seat, but obviously I am not local. |
