I have a vague memory from my 240 owning days that the cars were happy on non-lead fuel but needed a tweak to the timing position. Perhaps someone can confirm this?

I got my volvo back from the garage today after having new fluid and new brakehoses, I'm very happy with it, my ownership mileage is nearly at 100 miles now, I could do with giving it a service before I do any mile munching road trips but at the moment I'm just happy to be able to get out and about in it!
Edit - as for the unleaded I'm just going to see how it goes with unleaded I found another table that said it would be fine, |

So, my volvo had it's original Lex Brooklands number plates fitted since new, I'm all for originality but the front plate had a big crack in it and I couldn't replace just one, so I ordered some pressed steel plates as I thought they would compliment the car, they arrived today!
And fitted I also had to disconnect the front headlight wipers as one will only run in one direction and the other would rather twist the motor in its mount, Last edited by Tramp; Aug 9th, 2014 at 13:55. |

Nothing exciting really but I have fitted a new clock as the old one has expired, at first I bought what I thought was a new direct replacement, but that turned out to be 60mm diameter rather than the required 52mm, luckily 52mm is quite common on the custom dials scene ( I wasn't forking out for price they wanted for a second hand one!) I couldn't find any analogue clocks with matching dial/hand colours so I opted for a cheap cheap digital one, personally I think it fits in quite well, although I had to file the plastic surround a little to get the bezel to line up,

This is a local pit that has recently shut it's doors ( the last in the area) I was driving past and I couldn't resist taking a photo as I imagine this will probably be knocked down with the rest of the site. I also thought it was nice because when my volvo was first registered coincides with the miners strikes & Pickett line that happened here 1984/85 Last edited by Tramp; Aug 29th, 2014 at 18:05. |

Parked on a country verge exploiting its rugged ground clearance. Nice one!
I like those pudding basin shaped hub covers and domed nuts as fitted to your car there. Very practical. Very Volvo. You'll bless those wheels and hub covers in practical use of the car. |
