RE: Volvo 144 Fan Kit
Hi,
It seems to me that this is the smallest problem. Since the space between the grill and the radiator is quite large, many of the electric radiator fans that are in use today will fit. so your best bet will be the breaker's. Kenlows are extremely overpriced and the thermoswitch is flimsy. Try to find one that is also situated in front of the radiator, since you will need one that BLOWS. Operating will be the easiest iff you fit a piece of SS-tubing in the returnhose of your radiator. Then buy a new CLICKSON (thermostatic switch) f.i.from a Citroën CX and get someone to weld a fitting nut on the tubing, after drilling a hole in it. Take a powersource f.i. from the starter and feed the fan through the clikson. This way it will always operate automaticaly, even when the engine is stopped and watertemperature rises. The Clicksons are availlable in different teparature ranges. I use a simmillar layout for many years now on my Thruimph Stag, to full satisfaction. I choose a 90-82 Clickson wich will come in at 90*C and cut out at 82*C returnwater temperature. Good Luck and happy newyear |
