Default Remote window function

Caught out with this and must have accidentally operated key fob while in range of car and opened all four windows on my V50.....Only noticed when it started to pour from the heavens and I went out to get something out of the car, otherwise would have been left out all night in a downpour...had to dry the seats and take it for a run to totally dry upholstery...I Googled this and found a thread about this function and it works fully, "remote window open and close feature",although I was totally unaware of this functionality and the owners handbook "vaguely" refers to it, go to page 100 and then 106 and it is pathetic in the description...virtually nothing......total useless gimmick and needs a dealer to remove this odd/strange function....Imagine I had done this in a multi storey car park.....Can't disable from the in car menus either.....total menace

you should be able to disable it in the menu system ... have a good look at all functions there .

Depends how you look at it.

I think the functionality is great! Travel in car, stop, get out, kids get out of the back but have left window down - no worries just lock car keep button pressed and up goes any windows that are open. Job done!

Now you know it's a function I'm sure it will no longer be a problem for you. I've never accidentally managed to operate it.

Thanks Clan...but my car seems to have a somewhat shortened or truncated menu...been through the "car menu" section and "locks section" and so forth but can't seem to find anything specific on this....can get the VIN no. if I want, but nothing that seems that specifically pins this down, unless I am not reading the menus correctly and there is a sub menu that I am missing....failing that, just learn to live with and be extra careful...V50 07 Plate 1.6 petrol...maybe some peculiarity with my model/version

Only had car a few weeks and had no idea about this..was working in the garden and had been taking things in and out of car.Reckon I had put a long press on the OPEN side of the fob, thinking I was locking the car and rushing indoors out of a downpour !....Could be useful now that you point that out.Main gripe is the owners book is as useful as a chocolate teapot

Checked, I must have the base model or something as I have door locks but no sub menu for windows, so can't seemingly disable...anyway it tells me I have 3 keys but dealer only gave me two.....bottom line is I will live with this and now I understand the set up it might be useful....global remote window opening and closing....well why not?
