Hi Douglas
My advice to you is to contact Paloma at Hedleys towbars and buy a Westfallia detachable. Then go to Volvo and buy the towing module for a Volvo fixed towbar ( they are very secretive about this and reluctant to sell it Volvo Pt No 31454602) When you have installed the Volvo module get them to program it they will tell you there is only one download available and that is for the swing bar and the download will not work with any other make of bar Nonsense the down load you require is Volvo pt no 31435637 this will activate all the towing related functions. DO NOT USE AN AFTERMARKET ELECTRICS KIT AS THIS ONLY ACTIVATES THE ROAD LIGHT. The above does work all this info came from a Volvo contact of mine in Sweden Link to towbar thread on this forum https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=297185 Hope this helps |

Hi Douglas
The fitting of this bar is really a very simple task the most difficult task is getting the two froward bumper securing clips out. What i did was remove the securing screw then fold the wheel arch liner back a bit further then with a long thin screw driver flicked the clip backwards youll see what mean when you get to it. I have attached a link to the fitting of the Volvo fixed towbar which is very good. For your info they show the fuse box as visible it is actually behind the offside boot trim. Any issues when you come to doing the job drop me a note and i will help with constructive comments https://accessories.volvocars.com/In.../V90(17-)/2018 Regards Beetee |

Thanks BTW
Those instructions are brilliant BUT are for the V90 Estate version.
Are the S90 Saloon instructions the same, similar or completely different? |

Hi Douglas
For the fitting of the bar they are exactly the same. The only difference is with the electrics instead of all the trim removal all you need do is remove the boot lining as i understand it to access the fuse box and the two plugs Hers a link to Jaeger wiring kit installation instruction if you buy the Volvo kit simply use the Jaeger instruction on how to access the fuse box. Hope this helps Beetee |
