Default Trying to jump start V50 D5 but failing!

Help! ive got a v50 D5 that ive stupidly let the battery run down and ive tried to jump start it using my v90 D4 but nope. It seems it hasnt enough power to start it. Ive also got a T5 C70, would it maybe provide enough power, did i do something wrong, literally never jump started a car before, if anyone can suggest anything please, i dont want to have to call the RAC for it.

Hi
Worth connecting both cars together with the "Donor" car running and then leave them connected like that for a while(10-15 minutes). It will allow the Donor car to partially charge the flat battery and then also provide power to assist the start.

If you just connect the leads and try to start, the donor car is trying to charge the flat battery and also start the car at the same time.

I’ve found in the past if the car struggles to start first off if I leave the car running and the leads attached to the car I’m trying to start for 10 mins or so, and I usually get a piece of wood long enough to put on the accelerator pedal and wedge it between that and the seat base so the car is running at a steady 2-2500rpm it then gets enough charge in to start the other vehicle.
