As always, I really enjoy reading this thread. I have nothing but admiration for your resolution - I'd probably have given up on that car lots of welding ago.
Well done! Alan

Nothing to lose! Cheap car with no time pressures to sort it. I always wanted to own a 240 at some point too.

At least you'll know there's no rust left in it!

Apologies for not getting in touch earlier. I have just come back to your project. Very impressed. I see you have been up to see James at Slamannan. I spoke to him recently and I'm told he has now retired. If you see a shiny black V8, S80 going about town then that is David. He is on Facebook. I will look for his email addressed PM you. You do realise that once you have completed this task you will be required to attend events here in Scotland where you will most certainly meet David. He will be seeking your attendance. Additionally, if you are own Facebook, go on to VOS, Volvo Owners Scotland, which is only to be found on FB. I hope this is allowed here on VOC!

Good to see the GLT being repaired. Rare colour for a 240 GLT. Arbroath car previously. I have an 89 GLT the same colour.

Passenger side is now complete.
A little bit of tidying up on the back. Tackling the offside. Braced the doors. Outer sill off. Repairs in progress. Old and new outrigger. Nearly there! |

Excellent work as usual, well done. I couldn't help wondering whether SwedishScotsman would sell you the body shell from the one he is breaking :-)
