850R auto estate, 76600 miles, R reg

For sale my Volvo 850 R estate (red), 5 cylinder 2.3 litre turbo (240 bhp) with auto box. Standard car without modifications and with 12 months MoT.

Only 76600 miles, with extensive paper work, including every MoT.

One of the very last delivered (20/8/97), this is the only R registration I’ve ever seen, (Reg No.: R*** **R).

I am the second owner and had the vehicle since it was 10 months old when it had covered 4500 miles. This has always been a second car and has only really been used for long journeys. The body work is in lovely condition with no dents. The paint is still bright red with just the odd minor stone chip. The only bubbling is on the tail gate near the rear wiper. The car drives really well, silky smooth, quiet and with plenty of pull. No mechanical or electrical faults to my knowledge. Inside is in beautiful condition with no rips, tears or major wear marks. All the dash warning lights correctly come on with the ignition and then go out (except the service indicator … it’s due a service).

very nice, may I ask what a sensible offer is these days? Not a silly question as I'm on the lookout. Many appear to have surfaced of late (and all red!) and fluctuate between £1500 and £2k for a decent one. I am expecting this to be at the higher end though so this may preclude me however if only I could pm you (few posts) then I'd like to find out more.

Andrew thanks for your pm, as you say I can't pm back as I'm a new member.
Sensible offer ... yes tricky, in my research in the forum, ebay, pistonheads, autotrader etc I can't remember the last time I saw one with this sort of mileage, that has been owned for so long or with this amount of history and in this condition. Pistonheads has recently sold a '96 with 144k miles advertised for £3k. I don't know much else about it or what it went for. However, I can't accept anything in the £1-2k region, but thanks for your interest.

It looks to be a fairly sorted motor although I would advise better quality pics, around the £3k is not unreasonable for a low mileage well cared for R. Perhaps posting a contact number would be helpful for those who are looking to buy?
