Default Near side rear passenger door lock

Hi all, Can you help please? It is in the Body and interior section of the DVD; the part of the lock that holds the door in has stopped working. My guess is that it has lost its' connection to the levers inside the door but more worrying I cannot undo the two (hexagon socket) screws that hold the external part of the lock to the door. The drawing on the DVD is not clear and I have never had a problem with a door lock on a 200 so I have never saved one as a spare so cannot even look at that. Has anyone got any info – is the fact that I cannot undo the screws simply that V have used thread lock or more complex? I have only used ‘reasonable force so far; plenty of WD40 but loathe to use heat and will not use tap until I know what is happening behind. Anyone any ideas? Thanks.

Have you tried lubricating all the joints inside the door?

This is an intermittent problem on my car, although the door gets almost no use, and it has responded to the lubrication for more than a year now.
