Default Rear seat belt buckle bust

Hi guys,

My rear seatbelt has bust, it will no longer lock into place, the dash is saying that the belt is in use all the time. i had my rear window broken a few months ago so im not sure if a piece of glass has been lodged in it or if it has somehow locked itself. its the main rear passenger belt as well, so quite annoying now no one can use that seat. i have taken the buckle out and smashed it around to try and dislodge any glass but it still wont allow the tongue into it. are there any seat belt experts on here. Is it possible to just cut the sensor wire and replace the buckle with a cheap none sensor one, or will the dash/car complain about that? Or is there someway of resetting the locking mechanism? taking the buckle apart? any help appreciated

Jay.
