Default V90 heater matrix - can't find non A/C model.

I've been struggling to find a part number to replace my heater matrix. Even the original heater has no number stamped on it.
Volvo want £280 and I think that was without VAT! Hence the need to find one elsewhere.

It's a 1998 V90 manual non-AC. A rare combination it would seem. I'd hope that it's the same as a 960 non-AC model, in which case there are some available online. But without part numbers I can't confirm.

I tried a radiator specialist who also say that a replacement doesn't exist, and I'd have to get one made at £180 + VAT.

Any part number gurus out there?
Otherwise i'll be trying the 960 one and hoping for the best!

Have you tried GCP catalogues for the part number ? Also if Volvo have quoted you a price they must have the part number ?

I bought my one from Foursome Vehicle Heaters Ltd. They make good quality brass and copper ones and the prices are great but I am still very disappointed with the heat output compared to the original Volvo one, had I not been in such a hurry to need it fixed I would have had my one reconditioned. Here is their website, hope they can help you:

Thanks.

Volvo are no longer allowed to give out part numbers, apparently! I asked when on the phone to Rufe.

I think the heater matrices are the same across the 900-series range, namely:

LHD Non-AC 1308374
LHD AC 1307236
RHD Non-AC 1308449
RHD AC 1307277

If your car has the round heater valve under the dash there is a very good chance 1308449 will fit. Probably a good idea to find a picture (better some measurements of the pipes) online to check.

Just to update this thread, it turns out that my non-AC V90 actually has an AC type heater matrix.
Must be a parts bin / run-out model thing.

Always get the knackered one refurbed. You'll know it fits and the quality will be better.
