Default Heavy steering is it normal

Hi all, First post here excited about joining the Volvo community, so Hello everyone

My question is , I have just bought an XC70 2008 D5 AWD.

I have switched from a 2008 VW Passat .

The first thing I noticed was how heavy the steering felt compared to what I'm used to .

Is this normal ? I put it down to the size / Weight of the car and the fact it's AWD .

Or should I be concerned and investigate ?

The guy I bought from said it's how they are due to the above , I trusted him on this .

Thanks all ,
