Default Where to connect the towbar electrics? 1999 V70

Hi all,

I am trying to work out where to connect the towbar electrics on my 1999 V70.
(CNG BiFuel but hopefully that doesnt make any difference).

I have bought a new electric cable and 7 pin socket and a TEB7AS bypass relay.

But I cannot work out where to connect the wiring to.

I have been sending to an existing thread

http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=77396

If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Steve

Hi - I had a towbar fitted to my v70r (classic 1997) yesterday
and the fitter disconnected the plug to my rear lights on left hand side of car and connected b4 the plug - he ran cable through hole in floor after removing covering strip on boot lip, hope this helps?

get the right wiring kit, there are some on ebay just know for £34.
Item number 380142426572
i have just fitted one to my S80, same kit it's just a case of plugging it in, fitting a couple of relays and fuses then every thing works including the indicator warning light on the dash. rather than a bleep bleep from the boot every time the indicators go on.
you can get the 7 pin or 13 pin type. they come with full instructions that even a quick fit fitter could follow.
if you don't know what your doing you may well blow your lighting controls and end up with a hugh repair bill.

Hi Steve on my 98/99 V70 2.5T I just connected mine into the loom behind the rear lights with no problems if that did not work then I would have connected to the loom just in front of the bulb failure box, but mine works OK connected to the rear lights I also fitted the S type socket & wired in one of these:-

Which works just fine as well

Disclaimer there is no guarantee this will work on your particular car but it works fine on mine

Hope this helps
