Default Help please with s40 1.6d

Yes I have the dreaded lack of power issue. Feels like the turbo isn’t kicking in, dying on hills and not revving over 3k. Trying to fix for my elderly father

The low power message was on so I took it to my local indi for a plug in.

The errors coming up are as attached. The garage is stacked out with work for the next few weeks but he suggested the best place to start would be the EGR valve. I’ve now fitted a new one and no difference. Can anyone please suggest next steps? Many thanks in advance

It’s a 2007 S40 1.6d thanks

This could just be the fuel filter. I had a similar issue, it would die uphill, put your foot all the way down on the gas and nothing. Driving on the motorways was fine if on the level, it would get to 65 -70 and feel absolutely fine until the dreaded incline. Check out when the fuel filter was last changed would be my suggestion and it is something you can do yourself.

+1 for this. I replaced a failed EGR valve with an aftermarket Haas one from Euro Car Parts. Errors galore and performance disaster. Swapped for a genuine Volvo one and all was good.
