Not been on here in the last month or so as I have been busy with a house move. Yesterday before it got too hot I manged to give the T5 a going over using...

Auto Finesse Avalanche snow foam
Meguiar's Gold class shampoo
Poorboy's White Diamond polish applied by hand
Poorboy's Natty paste wax applied by hand
Powermax'd leather cleaner and conditioner

Looking good

Spotted this on AT yesterday, one of the nicest I've seen for quite a while, very reasonably priced but miles away in Scotland and Scottish cars do tend to deal with salty roads :

My new sat-nav discs arrived today, as the unit required a much updated version of maps. I updated the sat-nav system today using 2018 maps and firmware.

A very easy process to follow takes around 2-3 hours to install the product. Luckily the upload will pause if you turn the ignition off and will resume as soon as the ignition is switched back on unlike previous VW sat-nav units I have had to update.

Took the T5 for its mot this morning. Passed with flying colours only to have Bonnet open warning pop up on dash whilst driving home. Bonnet is fully closed.

A quick clean around the bonnet latch and some contact cleaner sprayed into the electrical connector plug made no difference so new bonnet latch has been ordered.

Looks to be a bumper off job to change the latch.

My new bonnet catch arrived yesterday, so set about changing it this afternoon.

Front bumper and bonnet latch removed in about 15-20mins.

I noticed on my new latch there is a metal strip that sits just on top of the sensor, mine was missing this strip of metal so that explains why I was getting a bonnet open message, not too sure how the metal strip had come off but clearly wasn't there.

Refitting the bumper took at least 3 attempts until everything was line up properly, probably would have been easier and quicker if I had a helper.

So for the sake of £9.99 and about 1-2 hours of work hopefully no more bonnet open message.

Seeing that the T5 ticked just over 140k miles the other week, I decided to give it an oil and filter change this morning. I used 6 litres of Millers 5w30 and could instantly hear that the engine sounded quieter at idle.

Finally got around to replacing the coolant expansion tank as the original had turned a nasty yellow colour and seeing the coolant level within the tank was becoming an issue.

For future reference anyone wanting to order a new tank, do not order a tank by searching for the correct part using your vehicles reg number. I ordered two tanks from different suppliers to find that they both sent the wrong tank for my car.

The T5 uses a different tank to other models in the range in that the T5 has a tank with two outlets on the front and one outlet at the rear where as the majority or other models use a tank with all three outlets on the front.

May not be to everyone's taste but yesterday I painted the factory strut brace to match the brake calipers.
