On board charging

Hi, I have 3 and half year old xc90 t8 and onboard charger faulty and needing replaced, anyone else with this issue ? Pretty poor if that's all you get out of it , and expensive.

My XC90 is 4.5 years and only has 30,000 on clock. The onboard charger has gone I am told. Did you have any luck with Volvo replacing it for free??
