Check your drain in the filler hole
Not sure if there's a better way to describe it. In the recess where the Adblue and diesel filler caps live there's a little white drain in the bottom. Seems this can block easily.
I only noticed last week when I went to top the car up with Adblue and it overflowed, filling the recess and unhelpfully appearing to drain straight into the diesel tank thanks to the capless design. No idea how long it's been like this (18 month old V60). Now beginning to wonder just how much water has puddled it's way into the fuel tank over the winter. |

I've had the same. Don't think water could get into the tank. I suspect it will run out over the edge before it gets high enough. I cleaned mine with a short length of garden wire.

It drains down the back of the nozzle and out just behind the rear wheel. Doesn't go near the tank.

yes, tried to clear mine the other day with a wire and pushed it through! Just release enough of the under wheel arch fixings and you can grab the hose. I'm thinking of replacing it with something of a larger diameter to avoid future blockages.

I have just put adblue into my xc60. Only the 4th time I have done. Not had a problem before but this time I was pouring it in and after 3 litres or so had gone in there was a dribble coming out behind the rear wheel. Stopped the adblue and the dribble stopped, restarted and dribble started.
There was no adblue coming out the nozzle. So why does adblue come out of some form of overflow when there is capacity in the tank and it is not being spilt at the nozzle?

I had problem of water getting into capless fuel pipe on my S90, causing the car to stall after torrential rain. I bought a plastic end cap (a few quid from vital-parts) that solved the issue.
