Default Alarm not working

Since I got the car I have had " Alarm system service required" flash up all the time.
Yesterday although the car unlocks and locks with the fob, it no longer flashes the hazards.
Is this due to the batteries requiring replacement in the alarm module, or is their another fault?

Thanks
SC

The lights not flashing is due to a sensor not working correctly. On mine if I leave a door open or leave the bonnet unlatched then the car locks but the hazards dont flash. Do you have any warnings about doors open etc?

No warnings except for the alarm needing serviced.

Well I feel like a numpty !!!!

Turns out that, somehow it had been switched off on the car settings on the waterfall.
These cars are a pain with a slight electrical glitch and everything goes haywire.
I have been having issues with the radio losing settings and audio settings.
I have just replaced the battery so hopefully it should behave itself now.
