D2 Smoke on Cold Start
Hi All,
My 2013 1.6 D2 V40 has recently started smoking (blue/grey) & rough idling on a cold start. Once I'm on the move & warmed up it will then blow our black smoke on hard accelerating. Otherwise, the engine runs fine. Any idea what it could be? I do mainly short runs (20-25 miles) for my commute. Sort of suspect the PCV valve being one reason. Thanks |

There is software patch for d2 called DV6C Idle Cold St. Soft nr 31478382, it has to be done manually as vida is not listing this nr in updates.Software cost £12 plus labour. Dealer or independent can do

Could it also need a longer run/regeneration cycle?

Hi Lancee, I had the same problem with my V40 1.6 D2 R-Design Lux nav with the D4162T engine, I got it booked in at my local volvo dealers for a diagnostic report it came back this code P228C low fuel pressure volvo adised me to change the fuel filter which I did but still have the same problem, they also said it may be the fuel pressure control value? I'm still looking into it.
Hope this helps. |
