Default S70 Service light...Help me to put it out!!!!!

Hi

I have a 1998 S70. Is there any way to extinguish the service light? I use a good garage but they don't have the reset tool. Anyone know an easy way to kill it???

thanks

Clint

Hi Clint,

from my info, on MY97 - 2000 S70's you should be able to reset the service light from the dash, thus...

Ignition OFF
Press and hold trip reset button
Ignition ON
Hold button depressed for 10 secs
Service interval light will flash
Release trip button within 4 secs.

Job done.

Hope this helps and works for you.

My 1998 V70 can only be done with a diagnostic tool. Pressing the trip reset only resets the trip.

I removed the bulb as advised when I posted a similar query recently.

This must be the most often requested bit of information on this site! And a shame that a little research would have revealed: http://www.volvoclub.org.uk/reset.htm

I'm surpised your good garage can't reset the light, I used to use a small local garage who'd do it for free (or a couple of £).

Exactly! At per many previous posts, there is not a reset method for 1997/8 S/V70's.
